Pierre Pivet, born in Normandie , France , obtains much of his inspiration from well-known masters such as Vermeer, Cezanne, Gauguin, Braque and Rembrandt. While blending the techniques and mastery he gains from his muses, Pivet fuses his paintings with a personal energy and vitality bringing the images to life making them solely unique. Pivet's brilliant use of color and lyrical brushstrokes combine to form distinctive works that remain with the viewer long after the initial observation. His fauvist method is extremely delicate while his subject matter and style is possessed with such a broad range that you are left awestruck by his immense vision and skill. Charles Baudelaire writes “Everything that is beautiful and noble is the product of reason and calculation.” In Pierre 's case this statement couldn't be more relevant as his work radiates a deeper understanding of composition, color and studied design.

Marries Claude Schaller in San Francisco.

Travels in the United States, Mexico and Guatemala.

Returns to France .
Begins studies at the Académie Port Royal with professors Claude Schurr, Jean Marzelle and Jean-Maxime Relange.

1975
Goes on his first of many trips to Morocco.

1976
Obtains the first prize at the Académie Port Royal.
Exhibits in Paris.

1983
Immigrates to Canada and settles in Montreal.
During this year he has extensive exhibits in the United States, Canada and Switzerland.

1990-1998
Several trips to Costa Rica and Panama.

2000
Projects in Montreal along with his many exhibits in France and Canada.
